Fashion and Information Portal Launched by Marketing Fundamentals For Plus Size Pregnant and Nursing Mothers
LIVERMORE, CA July 21, 2003 - Marketing Fundamentals announced the launch today of PlusMomMaternity.com, the first commerce, health information and promotional portal designed to offer a one-stop resource for pregnant and nursing women who wear size 14+. This interactive web site celebrates the pregnant and nursing mother who, until recently, has been unable to easily locate larger-sized maternity and nursing fashions and information.
Over 60% of US women wear size 14 or larger. With the increased support of fashion manufacturers and the access of the internet, size 14+ women are now able to enjoy improved access to fashions, products, information and services previously only available to smaller-sized women.
However, the size 14+ pregnant and nursing mother still has very limited fashion choices. Most maternity retailers only provide fashions up to size 12 or 14, requiring the larger woman to either search online for the few available larger-sized fashions or rely on her own sewing skills to pull together her maternity wardrobe.
The larger mom-to-be is also faced with maternity tips and information based on the smaller figure … breastfeeding positions don’t include positions for the well-endowed mom-to-be … hospital preparation tips don’t include pre-arranging for larger hospital gowns. Even the doctors, nurses and pre-natal classes tend to provide information based on childbirth for the size 4-12 mom, often leaving the larger woman afraid to ask important questions about the implications of her size on her pregnancy.
PlusMomMaternity.com provides an easy-to-access source of casual and career fashions, tips on fertility, adoption, birthing and nursing, stories from larger moms, gifts for the mom-to-be, and books and music to round out her information and relaxation needs.
