Gerbing’s and Ransomes Jacobsen are heating up the Turf Industry with “Hotwired” heated clothing.


Union, WA August, 2003 -- Gerbing’s Heated Clothing, the world’s premiere source for electrically heated clothing announces that it has secured a contract with Ransomes Jacobsen to be the manufacturer of its new line of electrically heated clothing. Ransomes Jacobsen’s parent company is Textron, a $12 billion global, multi-industry company with market leading operations in Aircraft, Automotive, Industrial and Finance. Ransomes Jacobsen is one of the four major businesses within the Industrial Segment.

Gerbing’s Heated Clothing has been making electrically heated clothing for over 27 years for the motorcycle industry including a line of heated motorcycle clothing for the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company. Gerbing’s has now targeted other markets which includes the golf industry.

The new line of electrically heated clothing consists of water-proof jackets, pants, socks and mitts and will go by the brand “Hotwired”. The “Hotwired” clothing is designed to keep outdoor workers warm in any weather conditions by plugging the suits into the electrical system of the turf maintenance vehicles made by Ransomes Jacobsen.

The initial heated suits were product sampled at one of the premiere golf destinations in the world, Glenaeagles in Great Britain and will be formally introduced at four trade shows in Europe this September.
